Rafa Juárez - Bio
Rafael Juárez Caparrós is an award winning, multifaceted creative director, artist and entrepreneur, with over 20 years of experience and successful achievements in the marketing and communications industry - 8 in Madrid, Spain and 13 within the U.S. Hispanic consumer market.
Rafa has created, written and directed integral communications campaigns for major brands in different categories like Automotive, Packaged Goods (Food & Beverages, Pharmaceutical, etc.), Financial Services, Telecommunications, Airlines, and Political Marketing for candidates, among others. He has vast experience in creating and producing campaigns in broadcast, print and digital media, as well as in the Public Relations arena (branding, product, tactical, promotional and public relations campaigns).
Rafael Juárez currently works as associate creative director at Lopez Negrete Communications, one of the largest Hispanic advertising agencies in the U.S. He was until April of 2008, interactive creative director at MATT.org, the official website of the bi-cultural think-tank Mexicans and Americans Thinking Together Foundation. Before joining MATT.org, he was associate creative director at GlobalHue, San Antonio, the largest multicultural advertising agency in the U.S., based in Detroit, MI. He was in charge of DaimlerChrysler's Tier II Dealers Associations creative account (Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands) for Texas, California, Florida, NY and Great Lakes Hispanic Business Centers, plus National funded campaigns for Tier I (Brand) and Tier II. Rafa also was associate creative director and senior copywriter in Spanish for other accounts, i.e. Verizon Wireless, Corona, Modelo Especial, Jose Cuervo Tradicional, IRS, etc.
Since April, 2008 and until joining Lopez Negrete Communications, Rafael Juárez Caparrós has been doing business as RJC Communications, collaborating with different agencies and organizations like Bromley Communications clients’ AT&T, Western Union (he was part of the new business winning team in December 2008), Chevrolet Dealers Association, Coors Light, etc. Also in 2008, he directed the adaptation into Spanish of the documentary “Wings Over the Alamo” for the national television network KLRN-PBS (Public Broadcasting System). In November 2008, he traveled to China reporting for the Government of Veracruz (Mexico) with MAS Consulting Group, as part of a special Public Relations campaign designed to reach the Mexican media. This was his third tour with the Government of Veracruz as a private reporter.
Rafa was born and raised in Madrid, Spain, and holds a 5-year Bachelor of Fine Arts, specialty in Design by the “Universidad Complutense de Madrid”, Spain. He lives in San Antonio, Texas since July 1996.
